The Global Wind Organisation GWO came to be as a response to the need for regulation in the wind industry. The members and workers who make up this organisation are globally leading turbine owners and manufacturers. They share risk information and expertise to improve safety on an industry-wide basis. To minimise accidents and improve safety standards, every technician in the industry has to pass certain training courses. Just recently, all new technicians working for GWO member companies and their suppliers are expected to complete the Basic Technical Training or BTT Standard.
